65" and Larger TVs

From 65 inch up to 100 inch, these are the televisions bought for open-plan living rooms, large sitting rooms and dedicated home cinema. The range genuinely runs the full way up rather than stopping at 75: 65, 75, 77, 85 and 100 inch are all stocked. At this size the panel technology matters more than it does lower down, because flaws that are invisible at 43 inch are obvious across a two metre screen. OLED remains the picture benchmark, lighting each pixel individually for true black, and it is available here to 77 inch. Mini LED and Neo QLED get much of the way there with thousands of independently dimmed backlight zones and go brighter, which suits a room with a lot of daylight. Micro RGB is the newest panel type in the range and sits above both. Standard Crystal UHD and 4K LED cover the value end and are still a large, sharp picture for the money at 75 or 85 inch. Two practical checks before ordering at this size. Measure the route into the room as well as the wall, because an 85 or 100 inch box will not go up a tight stairs or round a narrow hall corner. And if it is going on a bracket, check the VESA pattern and the weight rating, since large panels need a bracket rated well beyond what a 55 inch set requires. Viewing distance of three and a half metres or more suits 75 inch and above comfortably.

Samsung matches it with OLED in the S85H, S90H, S95H and S95F to 77 inch, Neo QLED and Mini LED in the QN70H and the M70H at 65, 75 and 85 inch, Crystal UHD in the U7000H and U8000H to 85 inch, the R95H Micro RGB at 65 inch, and the M90H Mini LED at 100 inch, the largest screen in the range.
